Was able to follow up a 12-4 week with a solid 11-5 record in Week 14. We are really getting down to crunch time now…fantasy owners are in the playoffs, the Chargers are making their annual late season run, and Vikings fans are shoveling snow at home and their team’s stadium. This is a tough week for NFL pick ’ems, and should separate the experts from the Panthers-esque “pros”. Check back next week to see how it went. If you are brave enough, feel free to post some of your own picks below.
Last Week: 11-5 Season: 28-17
49ers v Chargers
Pre-game: Both teams are 1 game out of first and will be motivated, but this year’s NFC West could be the worst division in NFL history.
Post-game: Games like this make me wish the NFL could somehow flex every nationally televised game.
Saints v Ravens
Pre-game: The defending champs are surging, and I think the end of last week’s MNF game exposed the Ravens aging D.
Post-game: Winning streak snapped, another example of how much better the AFC is this year.
Cardinals v Panthers
Pre-game: The Panthers are still the worst team in football.
Post-game: Apparently, even a blind squirrel can find two nuts during the course of an entire NFL season.
Browns v Bengals
Pre-game: The Bengals have proven this season that you need a lot more than big mouth receivers to win in the NFL.
Post-game: Must say I was surprised the Bengals are still showing a little heart.
Redskins v Cowboys
Pre-game: I have to admit that the Cowboys have impressed me since the coaching change, I just hate that they’re on national TV almost every week.
Post-game: Almost made me regret putting a little faith in them.
Jaguars v Colts
Pre-game: Game of the week here. I still think that the greatest QB ever will somehow find a way to make the playoffs.
Post-game: No surprises here, but a nice season for Jacksonville.
Bills v Dolphins
Pre-game: Buffalo has played tough this season, but back to back to back AFC East match-ups will have them pack it in early.
Post-game: As crazy as it sounds, the Bills will be poised to make a big push next season…so many close losses this year.
Eagles v Giants
Pre-game: We’ll see if Vick can still be his electric self in wintry conditions.
Post-game: Michael Vick = MVP.
Chiefs v Rams
Pre-game: Who would have thought this game would have playoff implications? Chiefs have blown out the other 3 NFC West teams this season…no reason to think they won’t do it the fourth.
Post-game: Was at this game…it was really something to see 16,000 Chiefs fans at an away game.
Lions v Buccaneers
Pre-game: Big win for the Lions last week, but it’s not happening on the road.
Post-game: No explanation other than the Bucs will never be legitimate contenders if they can lose games like this.
Texans v Titans
Pre-game: Titans are in disarray; Texans can still finish with a respectable season. They showed me a lot against Baltimore.
Post-game: Another team I was very surprised to see show some late season heart.
Falcons v Seahawks
Pre-game: Seattle is a tough place to play, but the NFC’s best will get it done easily.
Post-game: Falcons v Eagles will be an amazing NFC Championship game!
Broncos v Raiders
Pre-game: Raiders are still hanging on to very slim playoff hopes, and I think they’ll beat up the Broncos in multiple ways.
Post-game: Stay classy Oakland and keep the trash out of the endzone next week.
Jets v Steelers
Pre-game: That Jets beating from New England seems to have set their franchise back a couple of seasons.
Post-game: So much parody in the AFC (other than the Patriots) – surprised to see the Jets bounce back.
Packers v Patriots
Pre-game: Once again the best team in football…hard to swallow that one. Add that Rogers is probably out, and Brady could be sitting by the second half.
Post-game: Impressive QB play, but you have got to be kidding with the kickoff return…no way you can win a game when you let that happen.
Bears v Vikings
Pre-game: If nothing else, the Vikings have been an extremely entertaining soap opera this season.
Post-game: Vikings could make a late season push for worst team in football…definitely the most embarrassing.
