As I watch the defending champion and top-ranked Duke Blue Devils take on the fourth ranked Kansas State Wildcats in easily the best match-up of the early college basketball season at the Sprint Center, you can understand how the argument can be made that Kansas City is one of the elite homes for college basketball in the United States. Interestingly though, a local group has self-proclaimed Kansas City as THE College Basketball Capital of America. Even more interesting perhaps, is they may be right.
